Perspective Art
September 4, 2016
Learning to put depth into art work and creating the illusion of objects disappearing into the distant horizon is not an easy task! However, as you can see from these slides Ruma Tahi students are really getting the idea well. Check back in a few days to view some of the completed artwork.

Cupcake Day for the SPCA
17 August 2016
Cupcakes poured into school this morning - much to the delight of the many students who ordered them. Thanks to all those parents who baked, decorated and purchased cupcakes. They were delicious! Room One iced and decorated their own cupcakes. Some of the techniques were certainly interesting!

My Place in the World Writing
6 April 2016
Over the last few weeks the class have been researching one of the countries their families have come from. This has seen students learn how to correctly write a formal report and produce a "My Place in the World" piece of writing. Writing formally has helped the class learn how to correctly construct topic sentences and group their ideas into paragraphs. Watch out for regular updates to this post and enjoy learning about the range of countries that Ruma Tahi students come from! Aotearoa written by Riley Jimmy's ancestors homeland is the Land of Bagpipes!

Making Parachutes
As part of our maths and technology learning the class has been learning to design, make and modify parachutes. The next step will be to record the descent times on a table and compare these with other groups. Students need to think about how they will take accurate measurements and ensure that 'flights' are conducted in a fair manner. The photos show the creating stage. The designs were drawn using the Google drawing tool.
