Kid's Lit Quiz 2018

Do you think you could answer 100 questions about children's authors, book characters, nursery rhymes under pressure? Well that's what Arlo, Jake, Saffron and Jessie faced today at St Patrick's School in Greymouth. The quizmaster in charge was Wayne Mills a past senior lecturer at the Faculty of Education, University of Auckland. Jake's mum, Sandra said that he kept the questions pumping along meaning the team had to really think on their feet.

Whakataukī

After our class discussion write your opinion as to what our whakatakukī means this week and how this can help you with decisions you make in class.

Life Education

Last week Rūma Kererū spent a few hours inside the Life Education van with Carmen. The class learnt about the importance of keeping themselves safe on the internet. Everyone has written their views as to the importance of making the right choice and decisions and how to resist peer pressure. Jake's work is below but check out the individual blogs to read others.

Choir

Rūma Kererū and Rūma Piwakawaka join each other every Thursday to learn a range of songs and with Dr Tim Shawcross. They have only been learning together for a few weeks but are already mastering a few of these.

House Sports

It was in brilliant Autumn conditions that the first House Sports for Term 2 kicked off today. The activities were all organised and run by the Sports Council. The games covered a range of skills and saw students show our school values as they helped each other, challenged themselves and had a whole heap of fun. Read what Rūma Kererū had to say about the day.
